Celebrating ISGH’s 50 Years
Join us for a very special 50th Anniversary Gala, where we thank Allah for our humble beginnings, share how we’ve grown, and look at new ways we are building community and serving you.
In 1969, four families gathered in a small apartment to worship Allah together. Soon, more families joined as they began sharing meals and building community. A few years later, they purchased some land, incorporated the Islamic Society of Greater Houston and built the masjid at 3110 Eastside St., which many of us know as Main Center or Riveroaks Islamic Center.
50 years later ISGH is the largest Islamic organization in America with 20 centers spread over four counties. We provide the community with invaluable services that cover the lifespan of Muslims in Houston and beyond. ISGH offers 6 full-time Islamic schools, 5 free health clinics, marriage and funeral services and over 2 million dollars in zakat and sadqah to the needy. We also offer a comprehensive mail dawah program to prisons nationwide.
