WIS Ramadan Quran Competition 2022

There are 11 categories for the competition as follows:

  1. Age up to 4 years old:    10 Surahs –  105 (Al-Feel), 106 (Quraish), 107 (Al-Ma’oon), 108 (Al-Kauthar), 109 (Al-Kafiroon), 110 (An-Nasr), 111 (Al-Masadd), 112 (Al-Ikhlas), 113 (Al-Falaq) and 114 (An-Naas)
  2. Ages 5 to 6 years old:     7 Surahs –   97 (Al-Qadr), 98 (Al-Bayyinah), 99 (Al-Zalzalah), 100 (Al-Adiyat), 101 (Al-Qari’ah) , 108( Al-Kawthar) and 111( Al- Masaad)
  3. Ages 7 to 8 years old:     7 Surahs –  91 (Ash-Shams), 92 (Al-Layl), 93 (Ad-Dhuha), 94 (Al-Inshirah), 95 (At-Teen), 96 (Al-Alaq) and 111( Al- Masaad)
  4. Ages 9 to 10 years old: 10 Surahs – 86 (At-Tariq), 87 (Al-A’laa), 88 (Al-Ghashiyah), 89 (Al-Fajr), 90 (Al-Balad), 91 (Ash-Shams), 92 (Al-Layl), 93 (Ad-Duha), 102(At Takathur) and 109(Al Kafiroon)
  5. Ages 11 to 13 years old: 7 Surahs – 67 (Al-Mulk), 68 (Al-Qalam), 89 (Al-Haaqqah), 102 (At Takathur),  89 (Al-Fajr), 98 (Al- Bayyenah) and 105 (Al-Feel)
  6. Ages 14 to 18 years old: 6 Surahs – 55 (Ar-Rahman), 56 (Al-Waaqi’ah), 53 (An-Najm), 89 (Al-Fajr), 90 (Al-Balad) and 36 (Yaseen)
  7. Adults:                            6 Surahs –  32 (As-Sajdah), 36 (Yaseen), and 18 (Al-Kahf)
  8. Huffaz Age up to 18:       1 Juzu’: memorized minimum 1 Juzu’
  9. Huffaz Age up to 18:       3 Juzu’: memorized minimum 3 Juzu’
  10. Huffaz Age 19 & up:       1 Juzu’: memorized minimum 1 Juzu’
  11. Huffaz Age  19 &up:        3 Juzu’: memorized minimum 3 Juzu’

RULES:

  • For categories 1 through 7, using an app like Flippity.net to randomly pick one of the Surahs assigned to their category
  • Huffaz students are not eligible for category 1 to 7 and only eligible for categories 8 to 11. The imams and judges will vet the qualification.
  • For categories 8 and 9, participants will be asked by the judges as to which Juzu’ he/she has memorized. The participant will then continue to recite the verse recited by each judge, and the judge will indicate where to stop.
  • Surahs assignments were picked and vetted by Imam Sheikh Ansar Farooqi, Sheikh Mamdouh, and Sheikh Delaware.

JUDGES:

Quran memorization will be judged by a panel of judges that consists of students of Sheikh Ansar Farooqui and Sheikh Mamdouh: Sheikh Abdul Manan, Sheikh Osman Fuad, Hafiz Khuzaimah, Hafiz Abdullah, Hafiz Saffe Alvi, and Hafiz Raiyan Hoque.  There will be two shifts with three Judges per shift.

PRIZES:

  • 1st Place $50 –  2nd Place $30 – 3rd Place $20
  • Every participant will receive an eid token of $5
  • All Prizes and tokens will be in the form of e-token. Certificates will be in the form of an e-certificate.
  • Winners will be announced the next day via WhatsApp Group, and Masjid Salam website and emails.
