As part of the Pathfinders program, students will benefit from a dedicated Scholar Session held almost every Sunday. In these 40-minute sessions, we will host visiting scholars and community experts who will engage students in thoughtful, age-appropriate discussions on topics that matter most to them—ranging from spiritual development and fiqh-related questions to current-day challenges involving technology, identity, and character building. These sessions are designed to nurture faith, critical thinking, and real-life understanding in a safe and respectful environment. Once a month, this time will instead be devoted to sports and recreation, where students can enjoy structured play with access to soccer, basketball, table tennis, and badminton, promoting physical wellness and team spirit.
This year, we are excited to take you on a special journey through one of the most powerful chapters of the Qur’an—Surah Al-Hujurāt. This Surah, also known as “The Surah of Etiquettes and Social Conduct”, holds timeless guidance that shapes not only our character as individuals but also how we live and interact as a community.
Separate Sessions for Deeper Reflection
To ensure meaningful engagement and open discussion, boys and girls will study Surah Hujurāt in separate sessions. This will give everyone the opportunity to reflect, ask questions, and connect more personally with the lessons of the Surah.
In an age of digital distractions, peer pressure, and rapidly changing values, Surah Hujurāt provides a divine moral compass. Revealed in Madinah, this Surah teaches us about:
Respecting the Prophet ﷺ and others
Avoiding backbiting, mocking, and suspicion
Promoting unity, brotherhood, and truth
Building a community based on taqwa (God-consciousness)
For our youth—especially from Grades 8 to 12—this Surah is incredibly relevant. It answers deep questions about identity, self-respect, peer relationships, and community responsibility.
By studying Surah Al-Hujurāt, our youth will:
Learn to value their dignity and the dignity of others
Understand the power of words and the harm of rumors and gossip
Build stronger, more respectful relationships at home, school, and online
Develop a stronger sense of Islamic identity and leadership character
This Surah doesn’t just tell us what not to do—it teaches us how to live with ihsan (excellence), humility, and purposein every interaction.
We pray this study becomes a transformational experience for every student—nurturing their heart, refining their manners, and bringing them closer to the beautiful character of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
“Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you…”
(Surah Al-Hujurāt, 49:13)
